Our Faith and Mission

The members of St. John's Lutheran Church are people of God, called through our Baptism to be the living body of Christ, and to proclaim, teach and do the will of God in the world.

We commit ourselves, our resources, and our lives, with the help of God to:

  • participate as a gathered community in worship around the Word and Sacraments;
  • seek understanding of God's Word through learning, in order to be instruments of healing and reconciliation in the name of Jesus Christ;
  • witness, share and speak the Good News of Christ and serve Creation with our God-given skills;
  • equip one another for ministering in and to the Church and the world;
  • make the presence of Christ, and God's commands for love and justice, known and realized within our congregation, our families, our communities and the structures of society through specific acts of serving love, care, and justice;
  • support and pray for one another as members of the body of Christ, as we seek to do God's work in the world.

St. John's Lutheran Church is an active, vital, ever-growing congregation. We have many worship, learning, and service opportunities. We welcome you and invite you to join our family of faith as we seek to live as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ!

St. John's is a congregation of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
