Many people are needed to help with worship at St. John’s: Altar Guild to set up the church for worship, Greeters to welcome you to church, Ushers to help during worship, Communion Assistants to assist the pastor during communion, Ecumenical Ministers to take communion to those who are unable to attend worship, Lectors to read the lessons, Prayer Partners to pray a special prayer with you, Gift Presenters to bring the communion elements to the altar. Most of these tasks require anywhere from a few Sundays a year to a month or two of Sundays (and an occasional Saturday for Altar Guild). The number of people helping with all these things has dwindled in the last few years. Look around you next time you are at worship and think about which of these things YOU could do. St. John’s needs YOUR help! Come to worship on November 24 and find out more about all these tasks, come to fellowship and talk to people who are currently doing these tasks. Choose what you would like to do and sign up! Forms will be available at worship and at fellowship. Most of these do not take much of your time, but all are needed and greatly appreciated. Training, if necessary is provided.
