Do you have old palm branches from last year’s Palm Sunday Services? If you do, consider bringing them back to church before Sunday, February 23, placing them in the box at the rear of the church. Pastor Lyn will burn these old branches to make the ashes for the Imposition of Ashes at our Ash Wednesday Services on March 5. Ashes are made by burning palm branches and mixing the ashes with olive oil. Ashes placed on the foreheads of worshipers symbolize our immortality, frailties, and total dependency upon God. This year, Ash Wednesday Services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 12 noon and 7:30 pm. Following Ash Wednesday, Soup Suppers and Evening Prayer will be held on each Wednesday evening during Lent.
